Position Overview

The Operations Manager is core to the daily operations and running of the branch location providing efficient crew scheduling, customer interaction and problem solving across a range of functions including logistics, production, and safety of crews and personnel.

The Operations Manager will partner with the General Manager to hire and efficiently train our tree care crews to ensure safety and client satisfaction in accordance with policies and regulations. This position will also be responsible for managing all aspects of fleet management for a wide range of on-road and off-road vehicles. The Operations Manager will seek to improve operational efficiency and is expected to operate in an ethical manner at all times.

Specific Duties

• Manages, coaches and develops staff including but not limited to: performance management, progressive discipline, coaching, employee relations, employee offboarding, terminations, etc.
• Takes incoming calls, enters leads, schedules and handles billing questions, completes client service requests and completes email correspondence.
• Schedules all work and leads rescheduling in event of inclement weather.
• Leads Friday morning all employee safety meetings, in coordination with General Manager and Safety Coordinator.
• Leads and coordinates branch operations including but not limited to log pick-ups with crews and drivers, yard coordination, fleet maintenance, delivery of equipment to job sites, and development and utilization of fleet management software.
• Assists in the completion of new hire paperwork, employee onboarding and training of new hires.
• Prepares and adheres to annual budget for fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Main point of contact for all vendors and inventory maintenance.
• Partners with payroll and benefits providers to ensure employees are paid promptly and benefits are coordinated.
• Supports the Beyond the Leaf team and/or other departments on an as needed basis in order to accomplish department and Company objectives.
• Actively participates and contributes to the goals and objectives of the Company by working collaboratively and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment
