The Opportunity.

We are looking for a strategic and execution-focused VP of Marketing who will build and lead a full-stack marketing team in a dynamic, multi-brand portfolio environment within a high-growth umbrella company. As a member of our Executive team reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer, the VP of Marketing is responsible for the portfolio companies’ core marketing strategy and shares the responsibility to drive growth, engagement, and scale along with our CRO and Operating CEOs and Managing Partners at our portfolio law firms. The role demands strong brand building experience, analytical capabilities, operational excellence, executive influence in the legal profession and the ability to collaborate across teams and stakeholders.

You are a strong fit for this role if you have substantial experience in high-growth professional services, B2B companies, legaltech, or AmLaw 200 law firms, and have demonstrated success leading teams to $250M+ ARR and built and led cross-functional marketing teams, with deep expertise in brand strategy, public relations & communications, and data-driven demand generation.

With the budget to expand the function, you will play a pivotal role in elevating brand awareness for our portfolio law firms and generating leads to attract talented attorneys, expand the client base, and drive client experience, retention and expansion.

Key Responsibilities.

  • Brand Strategy & Corporate Marketing. Lead brand strategy for all Briefly portfolio law firm brands to craft unique and differentiated messaging and experiences that drive brand awareness and affinity, positioning our firms as category leaders. Oversee positioning and messaging, ensuring consistency across all channels and assets.
  • PR & Communications. Work with internal and external PR teams to create a coordinated message and manage media relations, press releases, and external communications to enhance the reputation of all portfolio law firms and establish thought leadership within the legal industry.
  • Leader and Coach. Build an agile marketing organization; leading and inspiring teams to deliver high-performing results. Recruit, train, collaborate and guide to maximize team productivity.
  • Talent Lead Generation. Work with the Talent team to fuel and accelerate talent acquisition through organic and inorganic leads. Adjust to the needs of the Talent team and use existing and new technologies to promote the brand across different channels.
  • Client Demand Generation & Practice Success Support. Working alongside our CRO, portfolio law firm practice success, sales, business development, and attorney teams, build the demand generation engine with innovative campaigns to fill pipelines with high quality leads and drive sales for portfolio law firm services. Identify opportunities to reduce friction and optimize funnel performance, nurture client relationships, and encourage repeat business. Provide practice success support with resources to execute customized pitch deck, collateral, and digital asset (landing pages) production.
  • Events Management. Establish national and regional event strategies. Plan, organize and execute branded or sponsored industry and association events to drive awareness and engagement with prospects, clients, and attorney candidates for recruiting.
  • Content Marketing. Own the editorial calendar and oversee production of high-quality content in support of all marketing needs, including brand awareness and thought leadership, client development campaigns, and product line brand and talent campaigns. This includes blogs, articles, market surveys, webinars, whitepaper, case studies, videos, and other educational content.
  • Marketing Operations. Build operational infrastructure and marketing tech stack, and implement processes that result in greater efficiencies across the organization. Create a preferred list of agencies/vendors to quickly and cost effectively tap into external partners. Ensure optimal allocation of resources to maximize ROI. Quickly integrate marketing operations of any new acquisitions into the platform company.
  • Analytics & Reporting. Establish objectives and key results (OKRs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics. Measure the performance of all activities and campaigns, assessing against goals and adjusting strategy and activities to achieve success. Provide ongoing reporting, develop actionable insights, test and learn approaches to new initiatives, and inform decision-making.
  • Stakeholder Alignment.  Work hand-in-hand with the Executive Team, other departments, and portfolio law firm leaders, to ensure marketing objectives and initiatives are aligned with overall company goals and will ultimately drive business growth and efficiency.

Who You Are.

  • Full Stack Marketing Leader. Proven experience and success across all disciplines of marketing. Deep understanding of marketing principles and strong leadership skills.
  • Brand-Focused. We work hard to maintain brand missions across portfolio firms. This role needs to have that front of mind at all times. Good eye for design and creative assets.
  • PR & Communications Chops. Experience setting strategy, working with outside agencies or building in-house capabilities, to drive PR & communications campaigns that promote uncommon approaches in industry and tell a unified story across brands.
  • Collaborative. This position will work closely with all departments and portfolio firms. Culture and team collaboration are key**.** You exhibit low ego, high intellectual curiosity, and clear, effective communication in a transparent, and hands-on environment.
